Do you ever...

Feel like voting yourself off the island? This week has been extremely emotionally draining...and I'm there, let me tell you...I never in a million years thought that something as simple as a couple of pieces of fabric missing off of a quilt could cause such discontent...well, I volunteered my time and pieced this quilt in conjunction w/some women at my workplace (none of which have ever completed a quilt themselves) and in the upper portion of the light blue, there was supposed to be appliqued two bears and 3 trees...and it just amazes me that the absence of those 5 items can ruin a couple of friendships...honestly it makes my heart sad...so vote me off the island if that's what you need to do...I give up, valuable lesson learned...

  1. That is just sad! That 2 bears and 3 trees are the cause of such sadness is wrong and I don't think that you should be the one voted off!! Gorgeous quilt with or without bears and trees...
Hope your weekend is a good one, sounds like you need it...

  2. I'm so sorry. Quilting should be all about connecting, not disconnecting. Could you come to my island and teach me how to applique?

  3. Beautiful quilt, don't miss the bears or trees one bit! Shame on anyone for getting upset over a gorgeous quilt. Don't you wish we lived in a compassionate world and not someones idea of a perfect world??

  4. I'm sorry for you to be so let down. Now that you pointed out where "something's" missing, it's pretty obvious. Working with a group of quilters can be challenging, even in the best (church) situations... don't I know! I empathize with how you're feeling, and I know that the only thing you can do is let it go. Don't let yourself think about it. Life is more important than a quilt. Blessings, Andrea.

  5. This sounds heartbreaking. Maybe if someone wants some trees and bears they can add them! It's never too late with appliqué right? Stay on the island - your next quilt needs you!

  6. Thank you everyone for all the wonderful & supporting comments, sorry for the pity party on my part...I have MANY MANY quilts left to make in my life and I can't wait to get them out of my head and onto some beds & couches!!! Gotta find my focus, that's all :)
Thanks, I can feel the love again

  7. Hi Andrea,
I have browsed you blog and your work is great! I wish I could quilt :) My husband told me about your blog and I have been searching the web until I found it. Who is my husband? Well, he works with your husband, his name is David and I think they talked about your quilt work.

I have a blog too. I don't quilt, I make cards and you are welcome to stop by and take a look.

    God bless.
    Keep the good work coming.
